If you have ever taken a drawing class where you had to sketch a nude model you know it is not all its cracked up to be. Playboy bunnies are usually not interested in the low wage paying, awkward posing jobs in a room filled with anti-social goth kids at the community college. What you wind up with is the local homeless drunk, who you would rather see passed out in the alley next to the liquor store than brightly lit in front of you, as you are force to reconstruct all his glory on your over-sized paper pad for a pass/no pass grade.
If you are still interested in drawing the human form, I think this is a great alternative. A highly articulated Spiderman toy with 67 moving joints. With this much articulation you ought to be able to take that drawing class as an independent studies course and save yourself the traumatic experience. Plus this is probably the coolest Spidey action figure I’ve every seen…
My friend from high school Ryan has a photo of himself with a couple of his coworkers on the company’s Website where he works for his dad. At first glance I noticed something peculiar and odd about his appearance. Take a look below and you will see what I mean:
Does it look strange? The 2 women look normal but Ryan looks as if he had been stretched. His head is just ever so slightly skewed. Maybe Ryan has been working out and trimming down. Good for you Ryan! Coming from a another ‘big bone’ fella like myself I think you look GREAT in this photo.
Well, after a little bit of photo manipulation, I came up with the following modified image of the original:
There! Now that’s the Ryan I remember. That is what Ryan looks like in real life. What could it have been? Do you think the photographer just made a mistake? Or did Ryan make an ‘executive decision’ in having the his photo stretched? I mean those 2 women sure look horrendous in the second photo. Here is another superimposed photo that combines the 2:
Well, you be the judge. I am guessing someone is not happy with their photogenicity and requested the photographer for a little digital plastic surgery to improve his image. Afterall, you GOTTA look good when you are commanding a fleet of Volkswagen-Jetta-driving, baton-wielding George-Nori-listening and ham-radio-operating rent-a-cops around town in the dead of night…..
For those of you who live in Adobe Illustrator, you can really appreciate this kind of work and the linked tutorial. This is essentially photorealistic 3D rendering of a human face done in Illustrator based on a photograph. If you don’t have the kind of chops to create something like this, give the tutirial a shot and see how much patience you have in drawing vector artwork. I would suggest getting a tablet first if you don’t already have one…
