Croatian Stuffed Peppers AKA Punjene paprike

Since my wife’s parents are from Croatia and she grew up eating a lot of home cooking, she sent me a link to a blog post of one of her favorite dinners as a kid.

Punjene paprike is what its called. Its basically stuffed peppers cook and simmered in tomato sauce. It takes a couple of hours at low heat to make the ingredients nice and fork tender. You can make it with either beef or pork. For me, my ace in the hole for this recipe is mixing them both together and instead of minced pork, I threw a little Farmer John’s breakfast sausage in there. Get the recipe from the original blog post and enjoy.

Bon appetite!

R.I.P. Carl Karcher

Carl’s Jr’s founder passed away last Friday just days before starting his 91st year here on planet earth. To celebrate his life and his contribution to the world of dining and creative/controversial marketing, We indulged in a little bit of getting-all-over-the-place goodness.

Burgers, fries and cokes…

Don’t bother me…

I’m eating.

Unboxing the Taco Bell Grilled Steak Taquitos

My Rotted Brain comrade at jeremyoswald.com recent blogged about the discovery of the new steak taquitos from Taco Bell. In typical new product review fashion, I have purchased my very own set of grilled steak taquitos today and here are the “unboxing” photos exclusively at DanLin.net.

The external of the packaging:

Peering inside the ‘box’ at the actual product:

As seen previously from Jeremy’s Taco Bell rumor post, this is the internal packaging

Complete view of the product with the optional accessory: guacamole sauce

View of the optional accessory by itself

There you have it, the rumored Grilled Taquitos in all of its delicious glory

Sacrificing my own possession for my audience’s viewing pleasure. I opened the external enclosure of the taquito to show the internal workings of my Grilled Taquito. What a work of art.

First test of the product. Awesome as expected. Even without the optional accessory attached

Getting a second opinion on the product quality. As expected, unparalleled excellence

Getting ready to plug in the optional accessory

Perfect fit. It is exactly as it is advertised. I couldn’t be more pleased with it

My seal of approval (Extra bonus of a hot blonde chick in the background just to spice things up even more.)

Thank you. Say it sexy like Ricardo Montoval Montalbán, “CARRRRRRRNE ASADA”. Now go get your own.

‘BAMN” the Automat opens in NYC

As a night owl, I have my fair share of the munchies in the dead of night. Just earlier this week, My friend Jeremy and I drove all over town just to find out the only place open at 4AM in Fresno is Denny’s.

Bamn is a storefront that is filled with good eats in the savory fashions of vending machines. As there is no on-site attendant, it is open when you are. Here are some photos that show just how good these robotic chefs can cook up a tasty treat. I want one!

Selections o-plenty

Fried Cheese and Fried Wings

Fried Mac-n-Cheese? Has to be good.

That doesn’t look like no burger a robot can cook!

Fries with Mayo. Just the way the europeans and Marlene like it

SPAM Sushi Nigiri! Just look at that thing and tell me you are not salivating.

LIAR!
