Heinz ketchup is red, not green, and remains very popular among Red state pickup owners, NASCAR types, fundamentalists, and suburban swing voters. Kerry might have won more votes by pigging out on fries smothered in the red stuff, followed by a gooey helping of Krispy Kremes. Most voters are less worried about global warming than they are about "dat guvmint" cutting engine size, speed limits, or beer alcohol. A sincere "green" candidate would propose a big tax on gasoline, which would have to be borne by all or not work at all.
