Google TV - Secret Beta or Hoax?
January 28th, 2007 — dan.linMark Erickson is a video blogger on Youtube who hosts his own technology show called Infinite Solutions. The vlog purports that it has found its way into a super secret Google TV beta program by way or an obscure easter egg technique. Many around the Web are refusing to believe the validity of his findings and have deemed this a well produced hoax. Maybe they are just overly cautious because it looks to me like it might just be the real deal. Just watch the mullet Mark sports in the clip as well as the 1980ish production style makes it hard to believe that he has the ability to pull off something as elaborate as some have claimed.
It is not unfathomable that Google with its acquisition of Youtube and its recent video search updates that it would solidify its position in online video by launching a Joost competitor into the marketplace. With its media partnerships in Youtube and its seemingly endless supply of cash, it is certainly able to pull this off. On the other hand, Google is certainly not immune to failure in the online video market when it comes launching its own services.

You know, I don’t know if it is true or fake, I could really care less. But either way, its 50-50…Half of the internet is saying its fake and the other half is saying its real…I’m just going to wait on the sidelines till this is over with.

if you can’t prove its not real or fake then leave it alone. you all sound like jackass’s by trying to prove/disprove something that you can’t. maybe half of you should tell me god is real.

well, think about it logically, how much effort would it have taken for Erickson to lie? quite a lot, getting the program together and making it look effective and belivable, but it would make a great hoax. How much effort would it take for google to deny it? very little, all they have to do is say it’s not and thats the final word, no proof nessasary. but why would they lie? what would they gain from hiding this? well its going to make a big change in the media industry if its actually endorsed by big-name broadcasting companies, but then again maybe not, if it has as many competitors as has been said. Honestly I have no idea, and I’m not rooting for either side, but think about it, it takes little effort to lie. these people who claim that it works can lie just as easily as google can. And end is right, while not adressing all of you, there are a good number of jackasses here. And seriously guys (and/or girls) why do you care so much?
