Mac-san and PC-san

As if I haven’t talked about Apple enough lately here is another little cool little tid bit about the company. Many of you have seen the video on Youtube showing a satirical look at the etiquette of eating at a sushi-ya. If you have not, here it is. Very funny.

Apple recently launched international versions of their Mac and PC ads. Many of the ones floating online have specifically been the UK versions. I just found a version made for the Japanese audience that stars the very same comedic duo from the land of the rising sun…

Google TV – Secret Beta or Hoax?

Mark Erickson is a video blogger on Youtube who hosts his own technology show called Infinite Solutions. The vlog purports that it has found its way into a super secret Google TV beta program by way or an obscure easter egg technique. Many around the Web are refusing to believe the validity of his findings and have deemed this a well produced hoax. Maybe they are just overly cautious because it looks to me like it might just be the real deal. Just watch the mullet Mark sports in the clip as well as the 1980ish production style makes it hard to believe that he has the ability to pull off something as elaborate as some have claimed.

It is not unfathomable that Google with its acquisition of Youtube and its recent video search updates that it would solidify its position in online video by launching a Joost competitor into the marketplace. With its media partnerships in Youtube and its seemingly endless supply of cash, it is certainly able to pull this off. On the other hand, Google is certainly not immune to failure in the online video market when it comes launching its own services.

MySpace SPAM is out of control

This is what I want to know. Why is myspace STILL the king of social networks? I can understand when there weren’t too many choices but is that still the case today? Just today I got over a dozen SPAM bulletin messages on my myspace bulletin board in my account. They are all from people I know who would not participate in this kind of solicitation. For example, I know my wife’s cousin who’s currently serving in the Navy in Florida is not really trying to get me to click to a site from myspace to claim a year worth of free pizza.

myspace spam

Neither is my friend Rodrigo inviting me to a HUGE myspace party by linking to a fake myspace profile to request the address where the HREF actually points to an IP address in Hong Kong.

myspace spam

Are all these people’s accounts compromised? Is it the handy work of the Colorado spammer Richter (as discussed on RB #50) ? Whatever it is, its not looking pretty right now. If myspace doesn’t find a real (non-litigious) way of dealing with the spam issue, it is just another reason for people to stop using it and jump to the next best thing. Whatever that is.

Frozen streets in Portland, Oregon

Looks like the freezing weather in Portland got a few people excited about playing a little game of bumper cars in the streets. Hopefully no one got hurt…
