MTV is the new BET
September 1st, 2006 — dan.linAfter watching the 2006 VMAs tonight, I am pretty sure MTV is looking to take over the BET audience. The rap, hip hop and R&B artists at least outweighs the rest by 4 to 1. It is pretty sad to see all these people who are supposedly setting examples and role models for our kids to show up on TV with the grammar skills of a second grader.
Obviously this is at the risk of sounding like an old fart but it is a prett ysad scene out there in the music industry. Even the white dudes are trying to be like street thugs. I mean, there is no business for Jared Leto to drop a reference to Diddy and Snoop during his introduction. I have never been so glad for my DVR to end prematurely as the show ran over its scheduled time. What is my problem to have watched it even for that long is beyond me.
Anyways, late, fools.

I envy you for having a functional DVR. I had to watch the whole thing with commercials. What a horrible show. And did you see they gave away a moonman for “best ringtone”? Are you kidding me? And the best ringtone winner was Fort Minor, who won the award for that lame ass song that is played too many times. I think it’s called “Where’d you go” or something. Sarah Silverman was so not funny it hurt, Britney and K-fed’s presentation made me want to throw up and Jack Black was even terrible as host.
I chose the VMA’s over Dr. 90210. It was 3 am.
